Hey y’all. Happy Sunday! How do you all feel about Sundays anyway? To me, their likability depends on if they involve something fun, like running a half-marathon, or if they’re being occupied by cramming for exams [such as today]. I can’t complain about this Sunday too much, however, as I enjoyed the 1 extra hour of sleep – goodbye Daylight Savings. A girl needs her beauty rest.

I have a lot on my plate today. In fact, flipping through my planner, I realized I have a hefty serving left to polish off before the end of the semester. But guess what… just TWO more weeks until Thanksgiving Break – hello 1 full week of rejuvenation! After the break, I have just TWO weeks remaining before Finals. It’s a little ridiculous how fast the semester’s passed.

Though November and December will be preoccupied climbing the final hilly miles of this academic race, there will still be some fun had around here. Coming up on NN on the Run: birthdays. challenges. giveaways. holidays. travels. races. & recipes.

Speaking of climbing the final hilly miles, I feel like I haven’t talked much about running lately. I didn’t even mention my Running Tuesday this week – oh my! To tell you the truth, now that training for my third half-marathon is through, my motivation to do an intense workout isn’t anywhere in sight. Though I’ve still been fitting in movement, I haven’t thought it to be anything very noteworthy… until I came across this quote on [never home]maker <— amazing blog!

“No workout is too short or too slow.”

So, with that, here’s what my week looked like in terms of exercise:

Monday

  • 45 min. outdoor run
  • 10 min. StairMaster
  • strength training

Tuesday

  • 26 min. outdoor run
  • 10 min. StairMaster
  • strength training

Wednesday

  • 24 min. treadmill [3 mi.]
  • 24 min. spin [8.8 mi.]
  • 0.5 mi. ITR
  • strength training

Thursday

  • 31:20 min. treadmill [4 mi.]

8 min. @ 7.5mph / 2 min. @ 8.0mph

8 min. @ 7.5mph / 2 min. @ 8.0mph

8 min. @ 7.5mph / 2 min. @ 8.5mph

remaining 1:20 @ 7.5mph

  • 10 min. StairMaster
  • 20 lunges
  • 20 squats
  • 2 wall sits @ 20 sec.
  • 2 planks @ 40 sec.

Friday

  • 20 min. treadmill

5 min. @ 4.2mph [6.0 incline] / 5 min. @ 4.4mph [6.o incline] / 10 min. @ 6.8mph [2.0 incline]

  • 15 min. StairMaster
  • 10 min. run [9 laps]
  • 2 x 10 push-ups
  • 2 x 1 min. planks

SaturdayI cooked & cleaned.

Sunday

  • 40 min. outdoor run

When I can’t find the motivation from within to run, I search the clearance rack at Old Navy. Today I slipped on my new long-sleeved running tee that I scored for $4!

Wearing a watermelon tee with lime green shorts is sure to brighten up any gloomy weather run. Oh, and by the way, those socks are my favorite everyday and exercise socks [also from Old Navy].

Off to the library. Enjoy your Sunday!

I’m with you on losing motivation after a race. After all that training, you deserve a break!

I, myself, enjoy lazy Sundays more than jam packed ones – today was super busy (with fun things such as shopping & wine tasting), but it was busy nonetheless.

I can’t believe how fast this year is going too!

The quote about no workout being too slow or too short is VERY true! It’s all about an active lifestlye, fitting it in when you can, and listening to your body’s needs :-)
