I can’t believe this week is already here… for heaven’s sake, it’s almost Running Tuesday!
I feel rejuvenated and ready to conquer this week’s tasks after my much much needed rest day yesterday. I’ll be honest, it was actually a bit difficult to refrain from exercising. When I’m healthy and don’t have school priorities taking the top of the list, relaxing can be a bit tough. However, I ended up taking not one, but two naps yesterday!… plus 8 solid hours of sleep last night; if that doesn’t say I needed to chillax, I don’t know what does. Rest days are important. My body was refreshed and ready to push out 2+ hours of exercise today. I started my morning with a 32-minute run around the ‘hood as I had “3 easy miles” to x-off on my SmartCoach plan.
This evening, I couldn’t pass up my favorite cycle class, so I headed to the WREC for 90 more minutes of sweaty bliss: 30-minutes strength training + 60-minutes 100%-effort spinning.
Then, a protein-packed dinner on the couch while I indulged in my weekly reality TV (The Bachelorette, of course) and planned for the rest of the week ahead:
4 more training workouts
2-3 yoga classes
1 internship meeting
CPR certification (for AFAA certification)
race Prep: make energy bites + ipod playlist
