Hooray for Friday!
I hope you’ve all had a great week… and if not, it’s Friday — woot woot!! I’m really excited about the weekend as I’m getting dodge outta town immediately after work. I’m paying a visit to my BFF and family in beautiful Sonoma County. Looking forward to some shoppin’ and good eats.
Anyway, before I go, I have a new recipe! Yesterday I did a little baking. I can’t let a summer go by without making zucchini bread, no no no. I followed this recipe with a couple of my own substitutions, including the addition of walnuts. I got this trait from my mother — you can guarantee that almost any baked good she makes, whether it calls for it or not, has at least one hefty handful of walnuts in it. We love our Omega-3s ;)
The bread turned out wonderfully… that is, the texture and taste. You see… I didn’t exactly get my mother’s trait of patience, and may have attempted to remove the loaf before it completely cooled. I could here my mother’s voice telling me to let it cool completely, but I couldn’t resist slicing a warm piece from the pan and licking the melted dark chocolate off my fingers — could you!?
Check out my Recipage for the full recipe.
Have a lovely weekend! xo
