Opening stockings is one of my most favorite parts about Christmas morning. Perhaps it was so special as a kid (and still is!) because our hand-knitted (with Angora and jingle bells) stockings were 3-feet-long (kid you not!), so the surprise grabs into the fuzzy stocking were far from few. Some years “Santa” stuffed them so full that they could not longer hang from their silver holders on the mantel without toppling over. Oh, Christmas nostalgia.
