Hi and thanks for stopping by Nutrition Nut on the Run! I’m so happy you’re here. I started this blog in 2009 when I was as a student at Chico State University earning a bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition Communication. My profound passion for eating well mixed with my naturally active lifestyle inspired me to create this space in order to share my healthier college lifestyle. Now, more than seven years later, I’m not the long-distance run-a-holic that I used to be, but my desire to strive for optimal wellbeing and share it with others remains constant.
My devotion to health and wellness could not have emerged more naturally over the years. A near-death experience as a young adolescent guided me from a restrictive teen and curious culinarian to a Nutrition graduate and now a worksite wellness professional, health coach, and blogger.
Today, Nutrition Nut on the Run focuses on living a healthful and joy-filled life through nourishing recipes, intuitive exercise, endorphin-inducing workouts, travel adventures, self-love, and all of the perfectly imperfect life stuffs in between.
More About Hillary
I am based in Northern California where I have been working full-time as a Wellness Coordinator for a family-owned brewing company since graduating college in 2012. After college I pursued my interest in nutrition and coaching individuals through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and became a certified Health Coach in 2014.
My current philosophy has evolved from a previous lifestyle of uncomfortable restriction and overexercise. I do my best at practicing what I preach: taking care of ,myself to the best of my ability while not excluding life’s little pleasures (like dark chocolate!). With each new day, I enjoy the messy, yet satisfying, balancing act of crunching kale and making cookie crumbs.
Again, thanks for being here. I always love hearing from readers so feel free to send an email my way any time: healthyhill3[at]gmail[dot]com.
