Think Twice

July 12, 2010 by Hillary 16 Comments

…maybe even three times before sharing something personal with the world. That’s to say, the unmentionables will not be mentioned around here any time soon. I didn’t think about a jog bra being R-rated. Humph.

Bloggers:

  • Have you ever regretted publishing a particular blog post?
  • How much thought do you put into your post topics?

Moving on…to food. I think that’s a safer bet.

Beginning.

008 004 006

Dewey green grass.

…with a side of oatmeal:

  • 1 c. water
  • 1/3 c. steel cut oats – the last of ‘em!
  • 1 T flax
  • 1 T pecans
  • 1 tsp. unsweetened coconut
  • organic peach, strawberries + blueberries

Middle [snack, not lunch].

009

sprouted wheat flax toast + 1 T p.nut buttah & 1 tsp. jam

018

Local jam sweetened with agave and honey rather than ultra-refined white sugar? I’m all over it!

End.

 021

024

Summertime…and the living’s eating’s easy.

Falafel-ish ‘Burger’ + Garden Salad + Grilled Naan

Before the end of my day – literally & figuratively – I unwillingly hopped on our treadmill. I haven’t stepped onto an exercise machine since I’ve been home this summer; it sure felt awesome to pound out 4.75 miles tonight after 3 whole days sans exercise. Sweating is good for the soul.

50-minutes @ 2.0 incline:

  • 6 min. @ 4.0 mph
  • 4 min. @ 4.2 mph
  • 10 min. @ 6.6 mph
  • 10 min. @ 6.8 mph
  • 10 min. @ 7.0 mph
  • 4 min. @ 4.2 mph
  • 6 min. @ 4.0 mph

…with a side of abs + arms!

I hope your week has started off well : ) You’ll be hearing from me soon.

With only good intentions,

The Nutrition Nut

I often have to remember that what I post, so many others will read. It’s hard because I like to use my blog as my diary, but I have to remind myself that the rest of the world is able to see exactly what I say.

I love all of the fresh fruits and veggies in your meals! So colorful and full of flavor!

Did people seriously give you a hard time about the bra post??? Who are these people, and why do they have a stick up their butts? As a girl who also needs hefty support in the sports bra department, I really appreciate your review of the bra and the guts it took to post those pictures. Props to you, Hillary! Chin up, girl!

Kudos to you for the bra post. It’s your blog, you gave a fair review and you, I think, can do whatever you please with what you write… within reason of course ;)

Ooooh, nice run on the treadmill! Getting on the TM for that long can be super daunting – so congrats to you!

Wow, did someone seriously give you crap over talking about a bra? There is nothing R-rated about talking about bras…ESPECIALLY sports bras! I personally really appreciated the post, so forget the haters and do your thing, girl :]

I’m sorry someone gave you a hard time about your sports bra post…I wouldn’t have thought it being R-rated whatsoever. I think that it was a helpful post for many people!

Your treadmill workout looks like a great one and your lunch looks AMAZING! It looks so fresh and yummy!

I didn’t find it R-rated… it covered a lot more than any bathing suit, and people but bathing suit pics up all the time.

Keep your head up girl :)

That was definitely not R-rated. My mom and I talk about sports bras in front of my guy friends all the time.

Your pictures are absolutely beautiful and your food looks even better. I love all of the food you’ve made! Yummy!

Sorry someone gave you a hard time! That is not a big deal in my mind at all, and honestly, I didn’t even realize it was you until you said it was, haha.

I haven’t posted anything I regretted yet (I think…), but I do sometimes worry about the ‘nasty’ commentors — still haven’t encountered one though, so here’s to hoping!

R-Rated!? Seriously…who are these people? I’ve only recently started blogging so I haven’t regretted any post just yet, but it’s bound to happen sometime! It always strikes me as odd when people post nasty comments on other people’s blogs. It’s one thing to have an opinion…it’s a totally different story to be rude & obnoxious about it. Totally ignore the haters! I thought it was a great post!

There was nothing R-Rated at all about it! I’m sorry that you received some flak. I’ve posted a pic of me in my sport bra all sweaty after running (bc I was so proud of my distance and accomplishment) and didn’t think twice about it either… plus, I posted before and after pics in my sport bra. Sport bras are not R-Rated :P

I didn’t think ANYTHING of it, except that I possibly found a new workout bra for myself!!

Did someone say something?? (I went back and read through the comments…) Hmmm. Sorry. It’s crazy, I didn’t think anything of it. Don’t regret. :)

I don’t see how that post was bad. Everyone wears a bra, jeez. People need to stop being so picky about everything and criticizing others. You brought up an issue that people are too embarassed to talk about for some reason, so kudos to you!

Last night I did a thing... I enrolled in @camp.wellness: a 6-week online course (designed by the inspiring @thehealthymaven team) “helping women in wellness get aligned with their mission and pursue the life of their dreams.” ✨ Later this year, my blog (Nutrition Nut on the Run) turns TEN years old, but my commitment to health and wellbeing precedes the past decade — it’s what I am all about at my core, it’s intertwined in everything I am. It may have taken a cross-country move, ample time to think during my dangerous daily commutes, and hours spent in a cubicle to realize that life is too short to give your passions a mere 50%. If you can’t tell, I’m feeling fired up! 2019 is the year I say YES to cultivating a life deeply rooted in passion and aligned with who I am... everything else can go. #nutritionnutontherun #campwellnessbootcamp Slow Sunday mornings are my favorite. - @pamelasproducts gluten-free waffles - fresh organic blueberries - cashew butter - pure maple syrup - hemp seeds What’s your favorite weekend brunch meal?
