I knew this would happen; there was just no way to prepare for it. After 2 months of grey sky, 80% humidity, and a max temp of 62*, my body was startled by the 90* dry heat as I got out of my car in Chico today.
I went from this:
in a matter of a 4-hour drive.
Man, oh man. Not only am I melting, but I’m also exhausted. As soon as I got into town, I dropped off a few things at my place, and then got in my car again and spent the entire afternoon driving around town in search of a few last-minute items for the HLS; I shopped ‘til I dropped… yet, had zero luck.
By 6:00pm, I couldn’t walk desperately around one more store. My stomach was almost on empty [as was my gas tank] – I needed food fast! Since the only thing in my kitchen at the moment is 12 c. of homemade granola, I cruised over to Chipotle. Do you remember when I was a Chipotle virgin?
I got a burrito bowl tonight; I think it was the best I’ve had yet – yummm!
I sat outside on my porch and gobbled up half of my bowl with a side of ice water!

I need to unpack + then repack. The craziness ensues tomorrow!
