My family gets their panties in a bit of a bunch when I don’t blog. I guess it has been a few days since I last saw you, or actually, when you last saw me. You’d think I’d be posting all of the time, utilizing my final precious pieces of freedom; instead, I’ve been soaking up all of those moments to their fullest capacity. It just so happens that my last week of Winter Break turned out to be one of the happiest. Funny what happens when you let spontaneity take the wheel. Blogging is a part of my life, not my life.

Remember all the way back to Wednesday when I tried my hand at kettlebells? I told y’all how I was already sore immediately afterwards, and that I hoped I’d be mobile in the morning. Perhaps I jinxed myself… it’s Sunday evening, and I am still in an incredible amount of pain. I can’t imagine this to be simply delayed-onset muscle soreness. No, I’m pretty sure I pulled/ripped/tore every muscle between my knees and my rear end =/
Though, since I’m one
tough crazy cookie, I’ve managed to exercise everyday since then [except for yesterday]. Oddly enough, cardio exercise doesn’t hurt as much as simply walking around or going to the bathroom. I tried foam rolling – there was no way my legs were having any of that.
Speaking of exercise/running, I completely forgot about my long training run last week. I guess I wasn’t into my training 100% by then because it totally spaced my mind. Well, I wasn’t going to let that happen again in Week 3. Despite getting a mere few hours of sleep last night, I was ready to crank out my scheduled 75-minute run, and I also had the desire to do in on the treadmill.
Running in place for 75-minutes sounds like the epitome of hell for some people. Even some days I dread the ‘mill. However, today I didn’t mind it one bit. It felt almost like 75 minutes of meditation, as I just let my thoughts run wild with the speed of my feet.
“Maybe I’ll write a blog post today titled ‘Ten Treadmill Tips’.”
“Or how about a post about strategies I use to avoid a hangover.”
“These running tights were an excellent score for $11.99.”
“I definitely have runners’ buns.”
“I love you, PB… but why must I burp you up as I run?”
“Can’t wait for that Starbucks iced latte.”
“Maybe I’ll just call it good at 60 minutes.”
“I’m adding this song to a new running playlist.” [random, indeed.]
“You’re doing the entire seventy five.”
“20 seconds…10 seconds…4, 3, 2, 1 DONE!”
long run #3.
- 30 minutes @ 7.0mph [3.51 mi.]
- 15 minutes @ 7.1mph / 15 minutes @ 7.2mph [3.60 mi.]
- 15 minutes @ 7.3mph [1.84 mi.]
Total: 75 minutes / 8.95 miles

Maybe some time I will write a post with my personal treadmill tips, or even a post about my experience with alcohol [if you wish?], but now I’m going to go enjoy my last evening sans school assignments, and get in some solid sleeping for the start of the spring semester. I have a feeling Semester 8 could be epic! :)
It’s a school night!
