We all know that I’m an oatmeal fanatic. The thought of enjoying a piping hot bowl of oats is what gets me out of bed on most days. I suppose you could just call me Goldilocks.
Not only do I look forward to eating my morning oatmeal – whether it be steel cut with chia, dried cherries & pecan butter or oat bran with flax, walnuts & dried apricots – I actually look forward to the oatmeal-making process. To me, oatmeal isn’t something that comes out of a brown envelope, poured into a bowl with tap water and stuck into the microwave on high. That would be the definition of oatmeal according to my roommates, and, unfortunately, to many others – they’re missing out!
That said, I am the Nutrition Nut on the run and, occasionally, I don’t have time for my oat ritual. Naturally, when I stumbled upon Umpqua Oats, I knew we were a match made to be: “nutritious, delicious, and fast.”
Umpqua has taken instant oatmeal to a whole new level. Their ingredient lists are short, simple, and do not include any mystery sugars; they are sweetened with sucanat (pure cane juice with only the water removed). This process preserves all of the vitamins, including: iron, calcium, vitamin A, among others.
How about them creative combos!
Not Guilty. Naturally sweetened with apples and blueberries (only 4g of sugar). Flax and chia seeds are added for extra nutrition and protein.
Take a Hike. Hazelnuts, almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, and apricots. Simply trail mix in a cup!
Lei’d Back. A vacation in a cup: a combination of cashews, macadamia nuts, coconut and papaya. It will have you saying “aloha”!
I’m nuts about all natural oatmeal. Aren’t you!?
Wholesome & hearty – check!
Simply add H20 and you’ve got breakfast in an instant.

I know many of my readers are fellow health nuts, students, and foodies on the run, so how would y’all like a case of Umpqua Oats in your kitchen for emergency a.m. meals?

Off to schooooool…
Hill
My on the go breakfast is old fashion oatmeal mixed with a banana, walnuts, 100% pure pumpkin puree, and cinnamon.
I loved this recipe: https://www.nutritionnutontherun.com/2010/09/30/so-long-september/
I’m a little obsessed with oatmeal, but I will confess to having the instant all too often. I start work at 6AM and I’m not much of a morning person at the moment, so it’s nice to just settle in at work and make some quick instant oats. I always add peanut or almond butter, one or two forms of fruit and usually some nuts (most often almond slices!).
I’m in Alberta Canada so all these great products I see on so many blogs I can’t even get here, it’s rather heartbreaking lol!
What an amazing company! Great find Hill :) My go to breakfast is overnight oats — just grab it from the fridge in the morning and enjoy when I get to my desk :) Hits the spot and keeps me full everytime!
My favorite combo of yours is steel cut with chia, dried cherries & pecan butter. I’ve been starting to make my own nut butter, so I think pecan is next on the list! The Lei’d Back combo from Umpqua Oats sounds dee-lish! I hope I can try it :)
On rushed days I normally eat frozen pancakes that I have in the freezer. I love oatmeal though-I haven’t had it in ages sadly.
On my super busy mornings I grab a luna bar and I’m out the door! I live in a residence hall so instant oats are a staple for me.. sad I know. I add steel cut oats to my bowl to give it extra bulk but it’s just not the same.
My go-to morning meal is a Chobani and an apple. I can shove them in my bag and run to class… and hope that I remembered a spoon!
This sounds super tasty: https://www.nutritionnutontherun.com/2010/12/30/chia-cherry-oatmeal/
Thanks for the amazing giveaway!
On my wake-up-and-run-out-the-door mornings, I’ll throw some oats in a cup of Greek yogurt (especially Chobani, your fave) and go!
My go-to quick b-fast is a Perfect Foods Bar. I’m currently obsessed with the Fruit & Nut flavor – YUM!
This sounds awesome! My go-to breakfast is Puffins Original Cereal with some fruit and chia seeds. Perfect for the morning chaos and rush.

My go to breakfast when I’m rushed is overnight oats in a jar! I prep it the night before so that I don’t have to worry about it in the morning!
https://www.nutritionnutontherun.com/2010/06/25/will-work-for-food/
I love this classic oatmeal combo. You can’t beat fresh berries!
My on-the-go breakfast is a banana and a granola bar, or a glob of peanut butter on a rice cake. Though I’m happy to say I have oatmeal most mornings :) It’s worth waking up a few minutes earlier!
My fav oatmeal combination is similar to one that you wrote about on 5/26/10…I cook oats + flaxmeal + cinnamon + banana in a mug (banana makes it extra mushy! yummm) and then pour it into an almost-empty nut butter jar! It’s a great way to clean up all the little bits that “go to waste” when they get stuck to the bottom of the jar ;)
My quick breakfast is a bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios.

My go to breakfast is definitely overnight oats. I don’t have to wash so many dishes in the morning ;)
Oatmeal is my everyday breakfast, but if I am in a big hurry, I’ll grab fruit and a bar.

Wow, that looks like a super cool product! Even on rushed days, I make sure I have enough time to make oatmeal the old fashion way. I just get up super early for it! If I were to accidentally sleep in, I’d probably grab a yogurt and mix in peanut butter and banana and a little bit of oats.
https://www.nutritionnutontherun.com/2010/04/15/everything-edible-greek-giveaway/
This oatmeal is appealing because I’ve never tried making oatmeal with pears before! Must give it a try sometime.
This looks PERFECT! I am a college student always on the run, yet my oats are essential each morning. When I’m super rushed though, it usually ends up being some goat yogurt and fruit.

Peaches, oats and coconut sound divine… and I’ll add some pecans in there too! There are too many delicious ways to make oatmeal!!
My breakfast for crazy mornings is oatmeal – I have it cooking on the stove top so when I’m done with my shower, it’s ready to eat!
I have never heard of this type of quick oatmeal, but I am very interested to try it! I went to their website and discovered it is served at a new local organic coffee shop in town that I had no idea existed. So thank you!!! I completely agree with the love of oatmeal and being always on the run! I rarely have time for oatmeal in the morning so Chobani yogurt is my staple in the morning on my way to my very early Nutrition classes on campus. But oatmeal is a staple when I have time or for lunch! Yum!!!

I always keep homemade muffins or granola bars around for my busy days!
Since I’m a teacher, I’m always needing a fast meal that I can eat in my classroom right before school starts. We don’t have a break until 10:30, so I need something that can hold me over for at least 3 hours. I usually make overnight oats: oats, yogurt, almond milk, chia seeds, fruit, nuts.
