… along the river, and through the foggy Redwood-lined roads to Chico I drove.
One of the things that I thought of as I was trying to keep my mind off of the slick, rainy roads and ugly motorcycle accident as I drove over the mountains today, were the items I had packed in the bright blue cooler stationed on the floor of the passenger seat.
locally made hummus
homemade – by me – quinoa burgers
fresh, homegrown rainbow chard
Probably not what most college kids stock their coolers with ;)
Little Blue and I safely made it to Chico after 4+ hours traveling through the summer storm. After unloading, I dug through my suitcase for shorts and a tee. Due to my decision to drink a large iced coffee at 5:00pm, and the fact that I had been sitting all afternoon, running “2 easy miles” was exactly what I wanted to do. Nevermind the rain. I ran around my neighborhood for 24 minutes sans iPod.
… as is chomping on raw rainbow chard.
I hope you had a purifying Running Tuesday, too.
