The “sinful” eating continuing bright and early this morning at a local breakfast spot, Sin of Cortez.
To start, I ordered a large glass of caffeine in the way of iced of coffee with non-fat milk. It hit the spot, as it was already reaching 80F by 8:30am.
The menu was Nutrition Nut approved, with mostly veggie-friendly options, and the meats sourced from Chico State’s ranch.
Flip-flopping between a pesto and grilled zucchini scramble with rosemary potatoes or a sweet stack of carbs, I went with the blueberry cornmeal ‘cakes with fresh peach puree – yum!
My uncle’s thick cinnamon-swirled French toast was rather impressive for a casual restaurant and coffee house.
Loaded with carbs and caffeine, we quickly scanned the aisles of the hoppin’ Saturday farmers’ market. The fam purchased a few summer specialties of corn and heirloom tomatoes to take back to the cool coast.
Time to decide what to do with my stuffed self…
- AFAA studying
- poolside (internship) reading

Love farmers’ markets and carb loading! Those cakes look amazing…peach puree!? What a great great idea :)
That breakfast sounds delicious! Peach puree is such a good idea for a topping. I might have to do that tomorrow on top of the waffles I’m already planning on eating :)
Sunday morning waffles with peach puree… I’m coming over! ;)
