One year ago today – exactly – I was stitched up with 6 blue stitches as the result of an ever-embarrassing, surveillance camera-recorded face-plant off of a moving treadmill. True story.
Tuesday, October 19, 2010 – on my way to urgent care
As horrifying as the experience was, I’ve managed to maintain my reputation at the WREC as “the crazy runner girl”, pounding out mile after mile around the track or on the ‘mill.
Today: Tuesday, October 18, 2011 – ready to run!
I thought it was only appropriate to remember that epic day with a killer treadmill workout today… and of course for the sake of Running Tuesday!
If you’re up for a challenge, give this 60-minute run a try. Not ready for the full hour? Try doing either the first or second 30-minute set – you’ll be dripping, I promise :)
Have a wonderful – healthy, delicious, sweaty, positive – rest of your week!
Hillary
Cute pic! Love the pink headband :D
Love your workout outfit! You look pretty ninja if you ask me! ;)
Happy (Belated) Running Tuesday!
Don’t feel bad… I gave myself a black eye with the treadmill once (bending over to pick up a magazine + face into treadmill railing = awkward) Try explaining THAT to coworkers! Treadmill trauma happens to the best of us!
Love the headband!!
I was on the treadmill next to a girl that fell off and it was the scariest thing ever. One second she was there, and the next she wasn’t. She tried to play it like she wasn’t hurt but it looked like it KILLED.
It happens, I’m surprised it hasn’t happened to me yet!
It’s amazing how time flies! I feel like I just read your post about having a spill on the treadmill! Sounds like a great workout!
OMG ouch!!!
Ohh what an experience ha! So glad you got back on the treadmill, with no mental blocks hehe.
Your blog is so inspirational! I look forward to reading every morning :)
I love your attitude to celebrate a minor accident by doing exactly what caused the accident. I love running, but midterms have severely limited my time to run. I think I better try and squeeze a run sesh in though!
A run will definitely make you feel better, I promise! Good luck with your exams :)
I LOVE this story! It gives you character! I also love how you’re stubborn and stuck to the symmetrical workout – I am a tad OCD as well and probably would have done exactly the same thing! And the last sentence of your your blog post? You rock girl :)
