A cold, grey November day calls for comfort food – in healthy, hippie Hillary style, that is.
– ON THE MENU –
Mixed greens, crispy pear, red onion, caramelized walnuts + pepitas* (I got fancy!) + a new favorite, simple balsamic dressing
Pizza: local pesto, sautéed onion + mushrooms, steamed zucchini, cherry tomatoes, local chevre & pecorino cheese
*I sautéed raw walnuts and peptias in a real butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt ‘til toasty, then allowed them to cool and crunch up before adding to the greens.
What am I do eating zucchini and cherry tomatoes in November!? Though “out of season”, they were organic and CA-grown.
