Good morning + happy twenty twelve (I like the sound of that!).
5 weeks from today, I’m running half-marathon no. 6, so I started the year with my first long training run of 8 miles, ending my 6-day running streak at 40 miles. #gothedistance
My new running toy is excellent motivation.
I’ll be honest, the run wasn’t enjoyable – the miles were long and sluggish – but it did feel good to see my stats afterwards. #justdoit
So, today officially starts my training for Half #6 (according to me). I’m pulling this training plan outta my a—, so I hope it works… a.k.a. gets me a PR.
Half-Marathon Training in T-5 Weeks

With my first run of 2012 done, I “treated” myself to a healthy bowl of buckwheat.
1/4 c. 1% milk + 3/4 c. H20. 1/4 c. buckwheat. 1/2 banana. 1/4 c. blueberries.
1T flax, cinnamon. walnut butter. #delicious

I ended my 2011 with an all-out dance fest! Then began my 2012 with a long run :)

You go girl!! You’re going to kick your half marathon’s butt! I ended 2011 by celebrating with my hubby and brother and sister-in-law and began 2012 with a 5 mile run! :) Happy New Year!
i’m thinking about asking for this watch for my birthday… do you think it’s pretty accurate? also, does the heart rate monitor work well? good luck with your training!
yes, i think it’s accurate. i don’t know about the heart rate monitor… i think that feature is “extra”? either that, or i just haven’t figured it out. love the watch though, i definitely recommend it.
I ended 2011 with a fantastic 8-mile run! So far, no running yet for 2012, but a 3-miler is on the horizon for when I get out of work. :-)
I am running half marathon #4 in February and I hope to crush my previous time!
