It wasn’t a typical Tuesday around here. I worked an afternoon shift, meaning I had the morning to sleep in.
Hah! I mean get my butt outta bed at 7:00am to kick off the day with a healthy dose of fitness.
But first, a bite or two of fuel of course.
1 GF toaster waffle, almond buttah, 1/2 banana, hemp seeds, and honey drizzle — mmm! Usually, I eat this x2, but I saved the other half for my WOD recovery fuel.
Even though I knew today’s WOD included running, I jumped on the treadmill for an easy 20-minute // 2.5 mile run to warm-up those legs before heading to the box.
Look at that! Someone did the workout as prescribed today! It’s amazing what two simple letters, Rx, can do to my mood :)
Iced coffee to celebrate and encourage the endorphin high.
Greens were packed for lunch at the office, along with half of a huge local Granny Smith and homemade trail mix.
Local raw walnuts, raisins, pepitas, bittersweet chocolate chips. #simple
Dinner came early as my evening was free from exercise. Quick comfort food to the rescue in the form of sweet tater black black bean quinoa chili and a corn tortilla with sharp white cheddar (that tasted 10x better than it appears).
A day of eating clean and sweating dirty is as good of a day as any.

I love the quote on your notebook! I know, I notice weird things… but it’s inspiring! Congrats on today’s workout! I don’t know much about crossfit, but I know enough to realize that it’s a good thing to follow the “prescribed workout” :)
My running Tuesday was fantastic – class was cancelled so I got in an extra 2 hours at the WREC (completed your 60 minute {LIFT to FIT} workout). It was a great day of running and clean eating for me as well! My lunch didn’t look nearly as delicious as yours though…I love the idea of a homemade trail mix with lunch! Yum!
An extra 2 hours!? So how long were you there, gym rat? #jealous
I did your (awesome) 60 minute full body+treadmill workout then I did a few inspired things. Until I realized that I had been at the gym all too long and I migrated to an empty aerobics room and did a solid hour of yoga. Such a good use of my time!
great job on the workout there! :) and that looks like a pretty yummy spread for the day if i do say so myself. especially din din, i’m a HUGE mexican food lover. :)
I agree that little RX makes a whole lot of a difference! haha. I got my first as prescribed workout last week!
Oh man, that quinoa chili sounds good! Any chance for a recipe?
I can’t wait for the day I can write RX on the board after a WOD. I am getting so close and getting much faster in my WODs! Even finished first in one the other day!
Great job on the workout! I spent Running Tuesday mourning the fact that I can’t run. I don’t know why it hit me so hard yesterday after almost a year of being injured, but it did. If you have any advice to get back to running I’d love to hear it! haha
Aw, what’s the injury? :(
Piriformis syndrome – pain deep in my hip/butt mainly when I run or sit down for long periods of time. Luckily, I’ve been able to do yoga and cross training to keep me sane… but I really miss running!
Have you heard of Active Release Technique (ART)? I would look into it and see if anyone in your area offers it; it’s a soft tissue modality that can do wonders!
Your breakfast looks delicious! Simple and nutritious. I know what I’m eating for breakfast tomorrow.
I LOVE your notebook! My momma got me a set of notebooks from the Coach outlet that I adore – perfect purse size – there’s something fun about writing in cute notebooks :P All of your eats seriously look delic, lots of yum!
