Christmas Eve is almost better than Christmas Day in my opinion.
Although the anticipation of setting out cookies for Santa (and carrots for the reindeer) doesn’t exist as it did in my 3rd grade self – dreaming of sugar plums and American Girl dolls – the eve of December 25th has universal magic no matter what age you are.
Then, after waiting 364 days for another day of family, overplayed Christmas tunes, stockings, and sweets, the day is over all too fast.
I got a late start getting in the holiday spirit this year, so even though I realize it’s time to look ahead to 2013 and those popular things called resolutions, I’m stubbornly relishing in the joyful season as long as I possibly can.
Small town, big tree.
Cozy Christmas fire.
Candy Cane Lane green tee & cookies.
Eggnog flapjacks… that were a flop.
Old placecard, older china.
Butter and sugar-free pecan sticky buns… I can’t fool you? ;)
Home sweet home.
May the joy of the holiday season follow you into the new year!

I apologize for the old news for those of you that follow me on Instagram. If you don’t, what’s stoppin’ ya? :)
So much good food! It looks like you had a great holiday :)
Oh my goodness, those sticky buns look realllly good :) Yum! I was thinking about making some for Christmas morning, but I decided it was too much work. Maybe next year!
Looks like a beautiful Christmas! I’m sad to hear the pancakes were a flop though because they sounded and looked so good!! Happy New Year Hillary!
I agree, Christmas Eve is the best!! I wish Christmas was all year long :)
The placecards and the china are beautiful-just like you! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas :)
