Last Wednesday, I turned twenty four. The celebrations (eating that is) started the weekend prior when my mama was in town, and they continued into last weekend’s trip to Sonoma County. Talk about a full week of indulgences! Hey, you only turn 24 once ;) Over the course of the week, I dined at four fabulous restaurants. The food was top notch, but the company more so. I certainly feel lucky to have celebrated with the closest people in my life.
Birthday Eats & Treats {that caught the camera’s eye}
not photographed: triple layer carrot cake / homemade vanilla bean ice cream / peanut butter ice cream sandwiches with dark chocolate fondue
stuffed squash blossoms – incredible!
peach & heirloom tomato salad
wood-fired pizza with pesto, arugula & prawns
crispy & fresh veggie rolls
pan-seared sea bass, preceded by roasted {lavender sea salted} fava beans
better butters… say no more!
the darkest of dark chocolate torte with chocolate mouse and vanilla creme anglaise
chocolate gelato, homemade whipped cream, puff pastry… roll me outta here!
The birthday celebrations are officially over — phew, even my infamous sweet tooth was sugared out. Back to basics it is…
A 25lb. kettlebell and 40lb. sandbag were certainly the perfect birthday presents to balance out the indulgent week.
Happy Monday! :)

What is your ultimate dessert?
Cake or ice cream?
I actually don’t have the hugest sweet tooth (I crave salty first), so typically pass on desserts, but love a pb/dark chocolate combo… I think the salt from the pb helps cut the sweet!
I love that you indulged in some fabulous food and got a kettlebell and sandbag for your bday — I think we would get a long well! Peanut butter ice cream sandwiches sound pretty awesome, by the way!
Sounds like you had some awesome food! Great presents too :D
everything looks so delicious! glad you enjoyed your birthday.
You had some great birthday eats! The sushi looks especially fresh and delicious! Yum! I’m more of an ice cream person… I think. It depends on the flavors of both, I guess :-P
Looks like you had a great birthday! I’ve always wanted to try Zazu! Is that where you had squash blossoms? I’m always looking for those at the farmer’s market. My grandma always made fried squash blossoms from her garden and it’s still one of my favorite treats!
The squash blossoms were at Crush Italian Cuisine & Lounge. They were fried, and oh so delicious!
This post is seriously making me drool! Looks like you had an awesome birthday :)
Happy Birthday!
My ultimate dessert is Kemps chocolate peanut butter cup fro yo – so so good!
Wow, you had some seriously good food!! I’ll be bookmarking that restaurant for the next time I head north, holy yumminess!
