Labor Day on the Bay

September 2, 2013 by Hillary 17 Comments

Labor Day Weekend 2013 was spent in Sonoma County with my family and the boyfriend. Sunday, we spent the day in The City to celebrate my Grandma’s 80th birthday with a brunch cruise around San Francisco Bay. It was a beautiful (and breezy!) September day on the water: seagulls, sailboats, sunshine, city line, mimosas, and mingling.

How did you spend Labor Day weekend?

Have you every been out in San Fransisco Bay (or walked across the Golden Gate Bridge)?

Love the pics! Sounds like a great long weekend : ) I biked over the Golden Gate bridge in 2009. I love SF, I can’t wait to go back someday.

A relaxing, productive, but rather uneventful Labor Day weekend over here. I spent time getting caught up in my biochemistry prereq for grad school (in Nutrition!) this winter, got in a couple of good workouts, food prepped, etc. I’ve been to CA, but never to the SF area… I’ve heard such great things and definitely need to make a trip!

Looks like a beautiful weekend! I absolutely love San Francisco. I haven’t been in a few years, but it’s definitely one of my favorite places!
This weekend involved baking, exercise, and quality, low-key time with family!

Stunning pictures, especially the bridge and the birds! Looks like a great getaway. :) I would love to visit San Fran one day. I’ve never been to the west coast!

Gorgeous photos, I wanna visit San Francisco very very badly and I’m hoping by the end of the year I will. I’m going to visit LA and San Diego this week though, so at least I’ll see some of the California lovin’. :)

What a fun Labor Day!! We spent the weekend watching our Texas A&M Aggies play football and spending time with friends and family. It was pretty laid back, but nice! I’m glad you had fun in San Fran.

It was really nice this weekend. A little windy, but then again you were right by The Bay! Sounds like you had a great time. I’ve lived in San Francisco all my life, but never walked the Golden Gate Bridge. That will be my goal to hit by the end of the year!

Your pics are great! My dad has a fishing boat, so I’ve been out in the bay, but I’m not a huge fan of it on his boat. It’s too choppy! On a ferry boat, though, that’s quite different and I’m okay with that! :)

This challenging year was all about appreciating the little things while living through some really BIG things. 2020 had more than a few lessons to teach us all. Through a pandemic, pivotal change in presidency, and loud cry for human rights, I see very clearly how privileged I am. It was the year to let go of plans and lean in to a new perspective.

Best thing about 2020... for me, it’s been relationships - virtual and IRL.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
One of the goals that I set for 2020 was to make one new local friend in Seattle (seriously something I wrote down as I began the new year moving across the country). While I’m happy to say that I did so (during a pandemic), I feel fortunate for the virtual friendships that developed, too.⁣⁣

I’ve gotta take a second to give a shoutout to my newest soul sista @weeksofwonder. You helped me get after it during my second year of entrepreneurship with a hefty dose of #2020 mayhem. 🙏🏼⁣⁣

Wendy and I met here on IG, and what started as a business relationship and accountability partner has turned into a special bond that transcends any walkie-talkie or social media app. This creative spirit has not only inspired me to get after it and dream bigger as an entrepreneur, but in the same way has encouraged me to honor rest and play: whether it’s giving each other kudos on Strava for tackling a run, building badass business plans and packages, or simply holding space to share the wins and the many woes, personally and professionally, of a memorable year. Having Wendy in my corner has led to some serious momentum and a sense of consistent community.⁣⁣
