Being a tourist in New York City must have gotten to me because when my mom visited for our annual autumn mother-daughter weekend, I had my camera on hand at all times. It really couldn’t have been a better fall weekend. Mom-and-me time is my favorite.
<< Friday Night >>
mushroom bruschetta // persimmon pomegranate salad // apple arugula flatbread (not so good) // Mama’s New Zealand vino
My mom rolled into town right when I got off work (TGIF!); we both needed to stretch our legs, so a short walk was in order before trying a new restaurant on the opposite side of town: Wine Time. Note: I haven’t acquired a taste for wine (gasp!), but I was curious about their food menu. Our small plate choices had potential, but were sub-par to my standards (a.k.a. flour-y, dry flatbread).
Our lighter dinner left us room for a stop at one of my favorite ice cream shops for seasonal pumpkin ice cream – yum.
<< Saturday >>
blue skies and crisp leaves at the FM // fresh greens // CA grown // Chico Chai // pedicures // lunchtime salads // canyon ridge near Paradise // healthy, comfort food: Butternut Squash, White Bean, and Kale Ragout over polenta
We didn’t waste any time on Saturday. We were up and out of bed by 7:00am. I whipped up a couple of bowls of creamy steel cut oats to fuel us through our morning… and the rest of our sun-filled, delicious day!
<< Sunday >>
brisk early morning walk through Bidwell Park // homemade pumpkin (pecan) pancakes // traditional trip to the pumpkin patch + my “knuckle head” pumpkin
Sunday got an even earlier start, as we had some shopping to squeeze in, too ;)
That’s a wrap. Time for bed. See you soon!
All that food looked so amazing! Seems like you had a great weekend!
I love the picture of your with the pumpkin at the very end! Such a cute fall picture and you look so happy :)
Shopping times with mom are NEVER a bad thing (when you get older lol)
What a fun mom/daughter weekend. I absolutely love when my mom comes to visit. I feel like we don’t have enough time to fit all of our talking in. Lots of walks and trips to farmers’ markets!
That salad looks amazing! Looks like a perfect weekend.
My cousin lives in Paradise! Beautiful place.
Looks like a gorgeous weekend! You are so cute sitting with the pumpkin! :)
I can’t believe you haven’t acquired a taste for wine. Seriously, I’m at a loss for words. ;)
What a fun weekend. I love spending time with my mom and am so excited to do the same this weekend. You look so happy :)
How you don’t like wine though is beyond me… ;)
Such cute photos!
Too bad the restaurant wasn’t better…I’m surprised you don’t like wine! Hey, I guess it saves you money! Sometimes I wish I didn’t love beer & wine so much to save money, but then I remember it’s worth it. Haha.
Looks like you had a great weekend — you look so much like your mom!
I’ve heard that once or twice ;)
I love this – hope you had a wonderful time with your momma! :)
Mine just left C-ville and I already miss her!
I love mom time! Your photos are unbelievable! Everything looks so amazing! Looks like you had a fantastic weekend.
Aw, I miss my mom! Great pics!
