It’s officially Summer Twenty Fourteen! Ok, I know I’m a few days late to the game, but nonetheless, I dispute it’s still note worthy.
No big travel plans this summer – as Kauai was most likely the trip of the year – but hopefully there will be some fun getaways here and there. The past couple of summers I’ve enjoyed creating a bucket list for the season, and I am following suit for a third year.
Here are a few things I am hoping to do before October arrives…
1 // Get on my bike – outside!
I don’t think I have hopped on my bike since the FlatFlower 30+ mile ride with my dad at the end of April. I haven’t a single good reason why I should not use my shiny new bike more regularly — excellent cross-training and eco-friendly.
2 // Get a henna tattoo.
Never ever in my life I am getting permanent ink on my body, but I’d like to get a temporary henna design to enjoy for a couple of weeks. There are henna artists at our Thursday Night Markets!
3 // Launch my health coaching website/services.
At this point in time, I am aiming for sometime in August. Excited, scared, hopeful, excited, doubtful, optimistic… I am starting simple in terms of web design in order to focus on the actual coaching. I will be sure to make a large announcement when my (second) website is up and running!
4 // Hike a new trail.
Somewhere, anywhere… where it is not deathly hot. Yosemite would be nice again.
5 // Make homemade ice cream.
Specifically fresh apricot ice cream and coffee coconut milk ice cream… and even more specially, made with my mama. I won’t allow myself to buy the KitchenAid ice cream attachment though… no, that reads a bold, red “dangerous.”
6 // Give my living room a face lift.
I have lived in my apartment for a year and a half now, and my living/dining room area has never been put together. Perhaps it has something to do with having three different (wonderful!) roommates in that time frame, but still… it needs some design and decor help stat!

Oooh, the henna tattoo idea sounds fun! Go for it! I have only one tattoo — a blue rose on my right shoulder blade — but I love it. Don’t think I’ll ever regret it. I’ve always wanted to try henna as well. And I’m super excited to see your health coaching business website launch! You’ve got this. ;)
Yum, I like the sound of coffee coconut milk ice cream – sounds delish! Good luck with the launch of your health coaching website! :)
I’d love to get a henna tattoo as well! And on my bucket list is to get certified to teach Group Cycling! In September hopefully :)
while i love that quote about the ink and ferrari… i have 4 and want one more :p
this summer i want to wrap up my personal trainer studying. save money. start swimming again!
Thanks for including me! Great bucket list. Good luck on the website/health services launch! xoxo
Mmm I love bucket lists! And the ice cream goal is definitely one I can get behind :)
Great bucket list! Good luck with your website launch.
Such fun ideas! And love how they are accomplishable goals!
Great bucket list! If you’re looking for a not too hot place to hike, I highly recommend heading up into the Lassen National Forest and/or National Park. If you haven’t already done it, the trail to Cinder Cone and out to the painted dunes/fantastic lava beds is pretty amazing. The landscape is really other-wordly and it’s not heavily used so you won’t run into huge crowds.
