…a marathon relay. Tricked ya!
Two of my girlfriends and I registered to run a marathon relay (26.2 miles divided into three legs) on January 18, 2015.
I have two months to train. We haven’t decided who is running which leg at this point; unfortunately, the course isn’t divided evenly (9.7, 9.6, and 7 miles).
I am excited to have an event to train for, but the bad news is that my bum knee is giving me some grief again.
Starting training with a complaining joint is asking for trouble. I’ve gotta be real smart about it, as I don’t want to begin 2015 as I did 2013 [favorite post: Rehab v. Training]…

A marathon relay sounds like so much fun! But those are still long distances in my book. :)
I hope your knee behaves for you because I know you’re going to rock it! You little speed demon, you. ;)
I have done relays before, but not a marathon relay – how fun!! I think any leg would be fun, but especially the final leg :)
I’ve never done a marathon relay before. It sounds like a really cool opportunity and I can’t wait to hear your recap. I hope your knee starts to heal soon so that you can start training. At least you are being smart about it, but it is never fun to have any sort of joint pain. That’s why I stick to 5K and 10K. Much more than that and I start to feel it :D
I am hopefully doing my first relay type race next month! It’s a 50K relay divided into 3 equal runs. Right now I am just waiting on confirmation from my third runner! I have already registered for a couple of races in 2015. Priority is RNR Nashville in April!
Wooo sounds like it’ll be a fun event, but yes, be careful with your bum knee lady! My bum calf is still tight as hell from running a 5K last weekend :( Injuries are no fun!
