Friends: Merry belated Christmas! My visits with you via Nutrition Nut have been few and far between lately — 2015 was certainly not a high blogging year for me. Such is life, and with 2016 on the horizon, I plan to set intentions that bring me back to this beloved blog space more often.
Since we haven’t caught up in a while, I’m feeling like we could use a virtual coffee date. Grab a cup of joe, a foamy latte, some steaming peppermint tea, or perhaps rich hot cocoa (I can’t get enough these days)…
If we were having coffee this afternoon, I’d squeal because I snagged one of the last Fresh Mask Must-Haves (seen on my 2015 Holiday Gift Guide for Her) from Sephora. They have been sold out (everywhere!?), but I think Sephora was hoarding some sets for the after holiday shoppers. I recently visited a Fresh store in San Francisco, and I am super excited to try these sought after skin care products. I am a sucker for facials and self-care.
If we were having coffee this afternoon, I’d tell you that I foresee an increased amount of travel on my 2016 calendar — starting with a work trip to Florida next month to get a couple of certifications: Worksite Wellness Specialist and Program Manager through the National Wellness Institute.
If we were having coffee this afternoon, I’d ask you to go running with me because… well, my days of outdoor running seem a distant pastime.
If we were having coffee this afternoon, we would talk about Christmas and traditions and how they change. This was my first Christmas away from my parents (and any of my family for that matter). You’ve gotta do it sometime, right? While it was most definitely different, being able to spend it with P and his family this year was special. Speaking of P…
If we were having coffee this afternoon, I would tell you that my boyfriend joined the Army Reserves. Six weeks ago, I never imagined my boyfriend with a shaved head (!) wearing a camouflage uniform and dog tags. Life throws you HUGE curve balls and you’ve got to go with them because – while they may be hard to catch – they can be a blessing in disguise.
Said event is an excuse, perhaps, for my absenteeism from all things Nutrition Nut. Really though, this was just one of the life changes that came in a set of three this season. P was given a two-week break from basic training for the holidays, and it is – without a doubt – the best Christmas gift to have him home. We have at least one more full year of very long distance (Oklahoma and Texas) ahead of us. While this is undoubtedly the toughest thing we have gone through as a couple, I am excited for his future as an RN (his position in the Reserves).
If we were having coffee this afternoon, I’d ask you what you’d want to see on Nutrition Nut in 2016…?
If we were having coffee this late afternoon, what would you tell me?
Virtual Coffee Date I // Virtual Coffee Date II // Virtual Coffee Date III
Yay! You’re back :) Been missing the Nutrition Nut, virtually and in person. oxoxoxo
BTW, we lived in San Antonio for three years, and have been back to visit multiple times. A great place to visit. Make the year apart shorter by visiting often??
Yes yes — I plan to!
It’s so good to hear what’s been happening with you! :)
First of all, I hope you’ll do a review of the Fresh products because you know I’m just as big of a natural beauty junkie as you are. I recently splurged on a few Tata Harper products and I LOVE them. Still working on finding a good natural foundation/concealer though.
Second, I can’t believe P joined the Reserves! I’m sure that was a roller coaster of emotions for you but hopefully it means exciting things for both of your futures. The long distance is so hard (Bran and I did it for a year) but it sounds like you two have a really good bond so I think it will only make you stronger in the long run.
I’m excited to see what 2016 holds for you! Happy New Year!! xo
I am so excited to try the Fresh products — hurry up, UPS man ;)
I want to try 100% Pure pressed powder for a natural foundation. I love their products, so that may be an option for you.
Thanks for support, Sarah. Happy New Year to you, too! :)
I was happy to read an update from you this morning. I was wondering where you’d been and what you’d been up to. Thank goodness for Instagram to get little updates! Good luck with the long distance with P. I’m sure you guys will make it through just fine. I can imagine that is a huge emotional rollercoaster though. How exciting that he wants to be an RN.
Thanks, Kelli :)
