Hey friends & happy August!
Summer is flying by… like how is it the eighth month of the year already!? Anyways… since I haven’t gotten my act together to put together a July Favorites post, I thought I’d pop in today with a few tidbits and to say hey!
1 // Gratitude journaling. Reading. Baking all the grain-free granola and almond flour banana coconut muffins. These things are bringing me bits of peace to what feels like an overwhelming and confusing season of life.
2 // I’m headed to Montana mañana for family vacation #2. It’s going to be a quick trip, but I’m excited to spend time in the mountains with family I don’t see nearly enough.
3 // I tweaked my (other) knee in the gym last week. Luckily, it seems to be feeling better, but I can’t say I didn’t freak out thinking about another possible knee injury.
4 // My current fixation is the gut-mind connection. I’ve been reading article after article, and it truly fascinates me. What struck me recently was this article that mentions the connection between E.coli bacteria (read: my personal story here), leaky gut, and inflammation. Mind blown.
5 // I get way too excited on Tuesday afternoons (yes, every Tuesday) when I remember Lululemon has new products up for sale. Dangerous.
6 // Got my first pair of Birkenstocks and can’t help but think of my mama every time I wear them. I mean, I know they’re “in” now, but I still can’t help but to think of my mom wearing them 15 years ago when they were uncool to my then teenage self.
That’s all the #TuesdayTidbits I have for today. Time to squeeze in a quick workout and pack!
Do you have any final summer travel plans?
What brings you ease and peace during long stretches of overwhelm?
I highly recommend reading Kelly Brogan’s book A Mind of You Own. I LOVED it!!
Hope that you’re enjoying Montana! I have yet to visit there and have family that live there as well. I am actually in Portland right now on a birthday getaway :) I’ll also be heading to the east coast to see my family next month before summer technically ends!
Someone tagged me in your FB post. Wanted to say “hi.” Also in Nor Cal :)
Thanks for saying hi, Sarah!
