Aloha!
I am currently in transit to Kauai. It’s going to be a long day with the three hour time change, but I’m looking forward to feeling that tropical breeze here shortly.
Recently, my blog favorite, Lee, shared her 11 Carry-On Essentials for a Seamless Flight. I’ve also seen a few other bloggers share what’s inside their purse or make-up bag; I think we can agree that it’s the ounce of nosiness (or curiosity) in all of us that makes these things fun to read.
If you dig through my carry-on (please don’t!), here are some of the items you will find…
What’s in my carry-on?
1 // Philosophy Kiss Me Color lip gloss
In addition to my SPF 15 lip balm, I also like a touch color and shine. This lip gloss is a staple in my purse, whether or not I’m traveling across the Pacific.
2 // Orbit peppermint gum
One time, I quit my gum addiction. That didn’t last long. Who doesn’t need a breath freshener after a stale 5-hour flight? Not to mention, it’s helpful for popping your ears, too.
3 // Nuts & Spices Kind Bar
I’ve packed eight total in my suitcase, but I have a couple in my carry-on for the beau and I. These low-sugar bars are such a great option when you are faced with a “hunger emergency.”
4 // Justin’s Almond Butter single serving packets
You can never have too many nuts in my book. I’ll try to sneak some carrot sticks and apple slices through security to go along with. When in doubt, you can usually find bananas in the airport terminal.
5 // Antibacterial wipes
Call me a germaphobe, but traveling is dirty! When I went to New York, I was so glad I had these with me. Before you dig into your snacks, you can “wash your hands” in the comfort of your airplane seat.
6 // Advil
Albeit the fact that I drink a lot of water, I never know when a headache might strike. Usually one Advil will save the day.
7 // Starbucks Gold Card
There’s practically a Starbucks cafe in every airport terminal these days. Early morning flights and full days of travel require caffeine, so I make sure to add a few bucks to my Gold Card to earn those valuable points.
8 // Aveda Hand Relief lotion
Best hand lotion, hands down. This is also a staple for everyday use. Dry hands are never in style.
9 // Dark chocolate covered almonds
More nuts, always chocolate. I bought an individual-sized bag of Trader Joe’s dark chocolate almonds for this trip. I enjoy pairing them with a few dried apricots. Gourmet on the go.
& 10 // my carry-on: Lucky Brand Knots Landing Travel Tote
I had been eyeing this beautiful bag for a while and finally bit the bullet during a 40% off sale. While I intend this to be my everyday purse, it is, in fact, ideal for traveling (hence the name!). Real leather; versatile handles and straps; all the pockets.
