I’ve loved the combination of peanut butter and honey since I was a little girl. Instead of the typical PB&J sandwich, I would find PB&H (honey) sandwiches in my school lunch — thanks, Dad!
I still have a special spot in my heart for peanut butter and honey toast, and well, I think it’s too cute that P still eats PB and honey sandwiches nearly every day — for breakfast.
Whether peanut butter and honey is smothered on toast, mixed in muffins, or blended into a smoothie/shake, the sweet and slightly salty combination is familiar and comforting.
I blended together Almond Breeze’s Hint of Honey flavored almond with frozen banana, crunchy peanut butter, and a dash of cinnamon (blood sugar regulation) for this easy to slurp shake. I increased its nutritional power by adding maca powder – my current favorite superfood.
- 1 cup Almond Breeze Hint of Honey Almondmilk
- ½ - 1 frozen banana
- 1 heaping Tbsp. natural peanut butter
- ½ Tbsp. maca powder - optional
- dash of cinnamon
- Blend all ingredients in a blender until completely mixed and frothy.
It can be whipped up for a light breakfast or afternoon snack. The hint of honey and sweet banana will satisfy when sugar cravings strike.
