Good news! This weekend I got my activity ON! Boy, was it a treat! My appreciation for exercise has turned tables since my knee injury.
With permission from the physical therapist, I was excited to get moving in some new gear.
Old Navy recently gave me a $50 gift card to try out their Active by Old Navy line. I spend more money on fitness fashion than I do regular clothing, so I was eager to scope out what affordable options they had in store.
I tried on several of their brightly colored items, as I’m not afraid to sport neon pink shorts (also Old Navy Active) in the gym, but I found myself at the register with black basics. I have plenty of color in my workout wardrobe already, so the simpler pieces I chose will pair well with all of my crazy colors.
Saturday morning – after fueling up with oatmeal in a jar and iced coffee! – I headed outside for a jog to test out the Women’s Compression Capri (in carbon).
You can certainly feel the compression in these crops. They’re snug, but very comfortable. I’m also a fan of the higher waistline.
The Women’s Active GoDRY Running Top and Women’s Active Compression Pants were a perfect match for a chilly morning hike… after a hearty breakfast of Cinnamon Quinoa ‘Cakes, yummm.
The pants also have a higher waistline, but my favorite quality is their length. Maybe it’s because I’m a bit on the short side, but I love the slimming effect of longer pant. I already know these pants are going to be multi-purpose from running (hopefully!) to running errands, doing yoga, hiking and lounging on lazy days.
The top is ideal for layering, but what won me over are the thumb holes — a much appreciated feature for cold, winter activities.
A new year is the perfect time to freshen up your workout wardrobe, so I recommend perusing Old Navy as an option. Plus, all Active by Old Navy clothing is 40% until January 16th, so you’ll get a bang for your buck.
Do you have a favorite company for your activewear?
How did you get your activity ON this weekend?
