I just got home from the student health center, and according to the nurse practitioner, I didn’t catch my roommate’s strep throat nor do I have mono. Though after a week of feeling ‘under the weather’ (ironic as these late August days are stupidly hot) and resorting to the long wait in the dingy student health center, I was hoping to walk away with some drugs ;)
Body Temp: 98.2F
Heart Rate: 50
“You must be a runner,” said the nurse.
Throat… ears… lungs… all good.
In less than 10 minutes I was given my prescription:
Fluids. Duh.
Protein. I try.
Sleep. Working on it.
Food is my #1 medicine, so I made a cool, creamy {feel better} smoothie upon returning home:
3/4 c. unsweetened coconut milk
1/2 c. frozen mango
1/2 frozen banana
1/2 ripe avocado
1 tsp. chia seeds
The Nutrition Nut is clueless what else to do. For heaven’s sake, it’s Workout Wednesday. I missed Running Tuesday. There wasn’t any Monday Movement. I haven’t felt like my normal exercise-crazed, gym rat self in over a week. Resting isn’t my forte.
Happy last day of August Two Thousand Eleven!
